Michele Chong has been involved in the sport of boxing for over 15 years. As a boxing writer, her articles, photos and videos have appeared in various print and online publications including Boxing in Las Vegas, My Boxing Fans, Keep Punching, The Burbank Times Newspaper, WBC Boxing/WBC Cares, NABF News, Supreme Boxing, Ringsports, etc. She currently has her own boxing column called the “Chatter Box” which covers both professional and amateur boxing. Her stories include profile pieces on current boxers and past champs, one-on-one interviews from the local fight scene and beyond, movie and book reviews, charity events and more. In past years, she was also involved with the World Boxing Hall of Fame.
She is a 2018 National Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, an honoree at the 2013 Golden State Boxers' Association's inaugural "Ladies First" Boxing Awards, a 2016 inductee of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Legends of Boxing Museum, a 2011 Outstanding Achievement Awardee from the Golden State Boxers' Association, a 2008 Inductee of the California Boxing Hall of Fame, and a 2008 World Boxing Hall of Fame award recipient.
While Michele is dedicated to writing about the sweet science with stories about both amateur and pro boxing, she has also covered many non-profit organizations, youth programs and charity foundations including the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame, the Burbank Boxing Club, the World Boxing Council, the Henry Armstrong Foundation, the Hollenbeck Youth Center, Inner-City Games LA, Cops 4 Kids & Communities, etc. She also works in PR and marketing for Steve Harpst Bronzes and Fine Art (boxing sculptures and sports statues).
